Sophomore Shuree Hyatt's goal in the 70th minute lifted San Francisco
past Cal State Fullerton, 2-1, in the first game of the UC Irvine Nike/Holiday
Inn Women's Soccer Invitational at Anteater Stadium Friday night.
Hyatt scored off a corner kick with the assist going to Lindsay Swisher
as the Dons improved to 2-1-2. Junior Stephanie Gray opened the scoring
with a goal in the 41st minute to give USF a 1-0 lead. Swisher also assisted
on that goal. The Titans pulled even in the second half as junior Erica
Pryor scored on a header off a corner kick in the 60th minute.
Senior goalkeeper Stephanie Beall recorded three saves for USF, while
freshman Shayla Sabin had four for the Titans (2-2). The Dons outshot
Fullerton, 12-9.
Fullerton meets Portland State Sunday at 11:00 a.m. and USF will face
UC Irvine at 1:00 p.m. in the tournament.
