UC Santa Barbara's Kristen Mann notched a double-double with 16 points
and 12 rebounds and the Gauchos' defense held Cal State Fullerton to just
27 percent shooting from the floor for the game en route to a 71-47 victory
on Saturday night at The Thunderdome.
The Titans fell to 3-14 overall on the year, 2-7 in Big West Conference
action. UCSB improved to 11-7 overall, 8-1 in league play.
Cal State Fullerton was led by sophomore Charlee Underwood, who had a
team-high 15 points, and senior Melanie Mosley, who grabbed a team-high
11 rebounds.
Aside from Mann's double-double, the Gauchos got 15 points off the bench
from Kate Bauman on 5-of-9 shooting from the floor and 5-of-6 from the
free thrwo line.
Fullerton trailed 45-24 at the break, largely due to its tough night shooting
from the field. The Titans hit only 29.4 percent from the floor to the
Gauchos' 48.4 percent in the opening half.
Things didn't get much better for Cal State Fullerton at the break as
the Titans hit just over 23 percent from the field.
UCSB held a 54-35 advantage on the boards and won despite committing 22
turnovers to only 14 for Fullerton.
