Ellen Porshneva scored 19 points and had 8 rebounds and Lara Gray added
15 points and a game-high 12 rebounds Saturday night to lead UC Davis
to a 70-55 non-conference women's basketball win over Cal State Fullerton.
The Aggies made 30 of 40 free throws and improved to 5-8. the Titans got
14 points from India McDaniel and 10 from Meghann Keathley but went only
6 for 13 at the foul line in losing their seventh game in a row to fall
to 1-10.
The Titans trailed by only 2 points at the half, 26-24, as Davis shot
only 27 percent from the floor. But after intermission the Aggies heated
up and made 52 percent while the Titans shot only 31 percent for the half
and 33 percent for the game. Fullerton made only 5 of 26 3-point field
goal attempts.
Charlee Underwood led the Titans with 10 rebounds and had 8 points.
The Titans remain on the road next week with Big West Conference games
at Long Beach State and UC Irvine.
