UCR Ends Season for Cold-Shooting Titans
Mar. 9, 2005– Anaheim, Calif.

Kemie Nkele scored 29 points and grabbed 14 rebounds Wednesday afternoon as UC Riverside ended Cal State Fullerton's women's basketball season with a 63-37 win in the opening round of the Big West Conference Tournament at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Nkele made 12 of 14 shots as the Highlanders improved to 16-12 with their third win of the year over the Titans, who saw their 3-game winning streak ended and finished the season at 8-20. Amber Pruitt came off the bench to lead the Titans with 11 points but she and Nkele were the only players in the game in double figures.

Fullerton shot only 24 percent from the floor and made only 2 of 15 3-point tries. The Titans also were only 7-of-15 at the foul line and were outrebounded by a 51-30 margin as Kristin Peters helped Nkele with 12 rebounds. Melanie Mosley led the Titans in that department with 6 in her final collegiate game.
