Quinn Invited to Tryout With WNBA's Sparks Apr. 13, 2004 Fullerton, Calif.
Cal State Fullerton senior guard Tamara Quinn has been invited to a tryout
with the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA for a chance to make the 2004
squad it was announced on Tuesday.
Tryouts are on an invitation-only basis and will be held on April 19-20,
2004, at Gersten Pavilion on the campus of Loyola Marymount University.
There will be two sessions per day running from 9-11 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.
and are open to the public.
Quinn (Lomita, Calif./Bishop Montgomery HS), a second-team All-Big West
Conference performer in 2003-04 for the Titans, averaged 11.1 ppg (12.4
in Big West Conference games) and 5.4 rpg while shooting .394 from the
field during her senior year. Earlier in the year, she became the 14th
player in Cal State Fullerton womens basketball history to score
1,000 career points and finished her career ranked 10th on the all-time
list with 1,109 points.
Aside from scoring, Quinn also ranks among the top 10 in seven other career
categories including: free throws made (8th), free throws attempted (10th),
free throw percentage (4th), three-pointers made (4th), three-pointers
attempted (2nd), three-point percentage (8th), and steals (tied for 9th).
Fullerton finished 9-20 overall and 8-10 in the Big West Conference for
a fifth-place tie, the highest the Titans have finished in the league
since placing third in the conferences western division in 1997-98.
The overall win total was the highest since 1997-98 (10-17) and the eight
conference wins were the most since 1994-95 (8-10).
