Big West Coaches Pick UCSB to Win Again
Nov. 5– Irvine, Calif.

The 10 Big West Conference women's basketball coaches today projected UC Santa Barbara to win a fourth consecutive regular season championship in a poll conducted at the annual Media Day at the Irvine Marriott Hotel.

UCSB received 9 of 10 first-place votes (coaches couldn't vote for their own team) and tallied 81 points. Pacific was second with 72 points followed by Long Beach with 61 points and UCSB's first-place vote. Cal State Fullerton was picked ninth ahead of Utah State.

The poll results:

1. UC Santa Barbara (9), 81 points
2. Pacific, 72 points
3. Long Beach State(1), 61 points
4. UC Irvine, 56 points
5. Idaho, 46 points
6. UC Riverside, 43 points
7. Cal State Northridge, 28 points
8. Cal poly, 25 points
9. Cal State Fullerton, 23 points
10. Utah State, 15 points
