Women's Basketball Coaches
Former Cal State Fullerton guard Katie McCluskey joins the coaching staff for her first season after spending two years in the backcourt for the Titans from 2000-02. She was hired to her position in September, 2002. McCluskey spent the first two years of her collegiate playing career at Irvine Valley College, where she appeared in 24 games for the Lasers as a sophomore, averaging 2.9 ppg and 2.8 rpg. Her best game in an IVC uniform came against Riverside, when she scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds while dishing out five assists all season-highs. She transferred to Cal State Fullerton in time for the 2000-01 season where she appeared in all 28 games for the Titans, making one start. In limited action off the bench, McCluskey averaged 1.9 ppg and 1.7 rpg in just in 13 mpg. Last season, she appeared in 23 games (making one start) and averaged 1.6 ppg and 0.9 rpg in just under 10 mpg off the bench. She shot .353 from the floor and .733 from the free throw line. McCluskey prepped at Fountain Valley HS where she was a first-team all-league pick as a senior and helped lead her squad to the CIF quarterfinals during her junior season. The 23-year-old McCluskey is one of 10 children and graduated in August of 2002 from Cal State Fullerton with a bachelors degree in kinesiology. She was also coordinator of the Titan Youth Sports Camp Program put on by the Cal State Fullerton Recreation Sports Department. Her parents are Kenneth and Darlene.
