Ground Titans, 83-77 Dec. 7, 2002 Cedar City, UT Box Score Cal State Fullerton freshman Amber Pruitt notched her first career double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, leading three other Titans in double figures, but it was not enough as host Southern Utah defeated Fullerton, 83-77, in a non-conference match-up on Saturday night. Cal State Fullerton fell to 1-5 overall, having lost its last five contests. Southern Utah improved to 4-1 overall. Pruitt notched her double-double in just 12 minutes of play. She is just the second player to grab double-digit rebounds for Cal State Fullerton this season. Junior guard Tamara Quinn added 15 points and two steals while freshman Andrea Adams had a career-best 14 points. Senior post Heather Hansen added 13 points and six rebounds. She has notched double figures in scoring in five of the Titans six games this season. Southern Utah was led by Sarah Hutton and Lacey Yates, who eached notched double-doubles on the night. Hutton had 14 points and 10 rebounds while Yates tallied 15 points and 10 rebounds. Casey Cook notched 21 points and five assists on 8-of-16 shooting.Cyrita Warner had 13 points, five assists and three steals. Cal State Fullerton held the advantage on the boards, 47-41, but were hurt by poor shooting, hitting on just 35 percent of its shots -- including just 19.4 percent in the first half en route to a 40-23 halftime deficit. The Titans shot .463 from the floor in the second half and outscored the Thunderbirds, 54-43, in the period -- their highest single-half point total of the season. Cal State Fullerton returns to action on Wednesday (Dec. 11) when the Titans hit the road to face Nebraska at 5 p.m. PST. ####
