Lady Luck Not Kind to Titans as Rebels Roll

Four players scored in double figures as the UNLV women's basketball team routed Cal State Fullerton by 41 points, 90-49, Saturday night at Cox Pavilion.

Cal State Fullerton fell to 3-11 overall on the season while UNLV improved to 9-4 overall on the season.

The Titans were led by junior Tamara Quinn's 14 points on the night on 6-of-14 shooting from the floor in 40 minutes of play. No other Titan was in double figures as sophomore Melanie Mosley was second on the team with seven points.

Senior Constance Jinks (Chicago, Ill.) led the Lady Rebels with a game-high 19 points, while freshman Sheena Moore (Lansing, Mich.) added a career-high 16 points off the bench. Sophomore Sherry McCracklin (Hazel Crest, Ill.) chipped in 14 points and junior InFini Robinson (Detroit, Mich.) 10.

Four lead changes were exchanged in the opening minutes of play as the Lady Rebels and Titans traded baskets and went nearly flawless from the floor. With 13:24 remaining in the half, a layup made by senior Julia Gray (Riverside, Calif.) put UNLV out in front by three and the Lady Rebels never looked back.

For the game, UNLV scored 39 points off 28 miscues by Cal State Fullerton. UNLV also went 9-for-13 from the free throw line (69 percent) and shot a season-high 56 percent from the field (36-64).

Cal State Fullerton returns to action on Saturday (Jan. 18) at 7 p.m. as the Titans hit the road to take on UC Riverside at teh Student Recreation Center on campus.
