STEPHANIE SHADWELL
Assistant Coach
2nd Season
UC Santa Barbara ‘00

Former UC Santa Barbara guard Stephanie Shadwell returns for her second season on the Titan staff.

Shadwell graduated from UC Santa Barbara, where she played four seasons (1995-96 through 1998-99) and appeared in 96 games before her career was ended after surgery for a herniated disc.

She was team captain her junior and senior years as the Gauchos won Big West Conference championships. She was selected the team's best defender in 1997-98 and won several scholar-athlete awards.

Shadwell graduated from UCSB in the spring of 2000 with a degree in sociology and a minor in sports management.

“This past year was a unique experience for Stephanie as she had never before experienced losing,” Ehardt said. “She has always won, from high school through college. So last year was most assuredly a growing opportunity for her. But I believe that she rose to the challenge and proved to be a big help to our kids as they struggled to improve day after day, despite not being rewarded with wins.

“Stephanie has been blessed with as sound of a basketball mind as any young coach out there. I’m certain that she can have a long career if she chooses to keep coaching.”
