JOHN BARTLESON
Assistant Coach
2nd Season
New Mexico State (1994)

John Bartleson returns to Cal State Fullerton for his second season as an assistant coach for the Titans. Prior to arriving last year, John had a three year stint as the Head Basketball Coach for the girls' team at Park City H.S. in Park City, Utah.

He is a graduate of New Mexico State (1994) where he played and worked for Coach Neil McCarthy. Bartleson was a graduate assistant coach during the 1992-93 season and an administrative assistant for the 1993-94 campaign for the Aggies, who went to the NCAA Tournament and were Big West Champions both years.

As a player in 1990-92 the Aggies were also Big West Champions and reached the NCAA Tournament both years. They finished the regular season ranked 11th in the country his junior year and lost to UCLA in the "Sweet Sixteen" his senior season.

Bartleson graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education and major in Physical Education.

“John’s done a tremendous job through the course of our first year,” Ehardt said. “It would have been easy to become despondent during last season, but John understands what our goals are and how we’re going to achieve them.

“He does a great job of teaching our kids on the court.  But better yet, he’s beginning to prove that he has what it takes to be an effective, top-notch recruiter.  And, ultimately, to build a program, we must be able to recruit.”
