Fall at the Hands of the Vandals, 64-46 Feb. 15, 2002 Fullerton, Calif. Box Score The visiting University of Idaho posted three starters in double-figures and outrebounded Cal State Fullerton by a margin of 43-22 en route to a 64-46 victory over the host Titans in a Big West Conference womens basketball match-up on Friday night at Titan Gym. Cal State Fullerton fell to 3-20 overall and 1-11 in Big West Conference play. Idaho improved to 10-14 overall and 4-9 in league action, sweeping the season series from the Titans. Idaho was led by forward Darci Pemberton, who scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to led both teams in those categories. Julie Wynstra added 15 points and six rebounds while Keisha Moore notched 12 points and six rebounds on the night. Point guard Jen Schooler scored only three points, but dished out eight assists and had five rebounds. Cal State Fullerton was led by sophomore Tamara Quinn and junior Allyson Alhadeff, who each tallied 10 points on the night. Quinn led the Titans with five rebounds. The Vandals led from wire-to-wire, leading 38-23 at halftime and outscoring the Titans, 26-23, in the second period. Idaho led by as many as 15 points in the first half, while outrebounding Fullerton, 25-6 in the opening frame. Idaho opened things up in the second half, eventually leading by as many as 27 points in the first five minutes of the period. Cal State Fullerton got no closer than 18 points the rest of the way, but actually outshot Idaho, 41 percent to 37 percent in the period, and closed the gap on the boards, trailing by only two in the half, 18-16. The Titans will next hit the hardwood on Friday (Feb. 22) when they travel north to take on the Pacific Tigers at 7 p.m. Cal State Fullerton will then continue its road swing with a game at Cal State Northridge on Sunday (Feb. 24) at 2p.m. in a battle for the final playoff spot for the Big West Tournament. ####
