Downs Fullerton on Senior Night Mar. 2, 2002 – Fullerton, Calif. Box Score Visiting Cal Poly had three players in double-figures and all players who entered the game for the Mustangs had at least two points as they upstanged the host Titans on senior night, defeating Cal State Fullerton, 74-47, in the Big West women's basketball regular season finale on Saturday night at Titan Gym. Cal State Fullerton ends the regular season with a 4-23 overall mark and a 2-14 Big West record. Cal Poly improved to 11-16 overall and 7-9 in the conference. The Titans will now meet top-seeded UC Santa Barbara in the first round of the Big West Tournament on Wednesday (March 6) at 6 p.m. at the Anaheim Convention Center. Cal Poly was led by guard Kari Duperron, who had 19 points, six rebounds and four assists. Forward Lacy Tannenberg added a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds while teammate Catrina Taylor had 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting and three steals. Cal State Fullerton was led by Allison Parks, who scored 13 points and had three rebounds while Tamara Quinn added 11 points, five rebounds and three steals on the night. The Mustangs led by as many as 17 points in the first half, leaping out to a 22-5 advantage with nine minutes remaining in the period. The Titans cut the lead to seven with two minutes remaining, but a three-pointer by Duperron gave Cal Poly the 27-17 halftime advantage. A 10-3 run by the Mustangs upped the lead to 17 points and Cal Poly led by as many as 23 points late before the final buzzer sounded the 27-point final deficit. Cal State Fullerton was forced into 32 turnovers on the night and shot just 32.6 percent from the field – including 4-for-22 (18.2%) in the first half. Cal Poly outrebounded the Titans, 38-28, and had 12 steals on the night. Fullerton seniors Lindsay Sotero, Tricia Lamb, Allison Parks and Katie McCluskey were all honored in a pregame ceremony before taking the court in their final regular season game as Titans. ####
