Titans' Rally Falls Short at Pacific FEB. 22, 2002 Stockton, CA
Selena Ho and Gillian d'Hondt scored 19 points apiece Friday night and
Pacific repelled a late Fullerton charge for a 70-61 Big West Conference
victory. Allison Parks led the Titans with 18 points and 15 rebounds.
The win improved the Tigers' record to 15-10 and 10-4 while the Titans
fell to 3-21 and 1-12.
Pacific had a 55-35 lead with 10:59 remaining but the Titans went on a
12-0 run to pull within eight. After Pacific stretched the lead out to
63-49, the Titans made another run and got within six points at 65-59
with 2:25 left. But Andrea Nederostek made a couple of clutch plays and
the Tigers prevailed.
Tamara Quinn was the only other Titan in double figures with 10 points
and 8 rebounds.
Fullerton plays Sunday at Cal State Northridge needing a victory and thus
a season sweep of the Matadors to have a chance at qualifying for the
Big West Conference post-season tournament at the Anaheim Convention Center
beginning March 6.
