2003: Saw significant time as a freshman at the setter position, starting 96 of 102 games and averaging 8.15 apg (10th in the Big West) • also tallied 34 kills and was fourth on the team with 149 digs (1.55 dpg) • had three matches with 50 or more assists, including a career-high 59 at Utah State on Oct. 16 • tallied a season-high three service aces at UC Riverside on Nov. 1 while adding a career-high five kills and 10 digs • notched a career-best 16 digs in a home victory over UCR on Oct. 4.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a three-year varsity letter winner at Bishop Alemany H.S. in Mission Hills • Earned team MVP and all-league honors her junior and senior seasons • Also garnered several academic honors, including membership in the California Scholastic Federation and National Honor Society.

PERSONAL: Born on July 29, 1985, in Los Angeles, Calif. • Parents are Bill and Nancy Carney • Majoring in nursing • Also considered attending Northeastern, Ohio University and UC San Diego, but chose Fullerton because of its strong communications program and because she liked the coaching staff • Most interesting summer job was crab hunting in North Carolina • Says she’s better than anyone else at Austin Powers imitations • Favorite athlete is Larry Bird and favorite team is the Boston Celtics.
