Fifth-Game Rally Snaps TItans' Losing Streak
Oct. 15, 2004 – Fullerton, Calif.

Box Score

Sarah Morrison had 15 kills and Carley Dial added 14 more Friday night to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 3-2 Big West Conference women’s volleyball victory over Utah State.

The Titans (10-7, 3-5) snapped a 10-match losing streak to the Aggies (5-11, 1-7), last winning in 1997. With 10 wins, Fullerton is in double digits in victories for the first time since that same 1997 season and three conference victories equals the last two seasons combined.

Utah State, which was minus four regulars due to injuries, fought back from a 2-0 deficit but fell behind in game No. 5, 3-0, and never led in losing 15-10. The Aggies got 19 kills from Carolyn Forbush and 20 digs from Kelsi Thoman.
After winning the first two games, 30-23 and 30-25, the Titans struggled until a lineup change late in game No. 4. Sophomore Jenna Carney replaced freshman Julie Geissert and the momentum switched to Fullerton.

Fullerton hosts Idaho Saturday night while the Aggies visit UC Riverside.
