Vandals Come Out On Top in Five-Games

Junior outside hitter, Kati Tickker led all players with 28 kills as Idaho defeated Cal State Fullerton 3-2 (30-22, 30-23, 24-30, 28-30, 15-12) in Saturday night's Big West Conference women's volleyball match at Titan Gymnasium.

The Titans (10-8, 3-6) fought back from a 2-0 deficit to win games three and four, only to be outhit in game five .294 - .000 by the Vandals (13-5, 6-3), who handed Fullerton only its second loss at home this season.

Senior Lauren Goins had 21 kills and Alyssa Opeka added 17 more to lead the Titans' offense. Tiffany Dolven contributed to the Vandals .036, and .159 attack percentages in games three and four with her match-leading 9 blocks.

Idaho's Sarah Meek also had a big night hitting .410 with 22 kills of her own.

Fullerton travels to Santa Barbara next week for a Friday night match with the Gauchos and then to Cal Poly to take on the Mustangs Saturday night. Both Big West matches will be at 7:00 p.m.
