Cal State Fullerton senior Lauren Goins had a team-high 18 kills, leading
two other Titans in double figures, but it wasn't enough as Pacific downed
the Titans in four games (30-23, 31-33, 30-25, 30-26) on Thursday night
in Stockton, Calif.
Fullerton fell to 9-6 overall, 2-4 in the Big West Conference, snapping
the Titans' two-match winning streak. Pacific improved to 9-3 overall,
6-1 in league play.
Goins, who also had 15 digs on the night, was joined in double digit kills
by junior Sarah Morrison, who had 16 kills and hit .302 on the night.
Senior Tiffany Dolven had 10 kills and hit a team-best .368 on the night.
Pacific was led by Ashley Groothuis, who had a match-high 21 kills and
14 digs. Stevie Mussie (19 kills), Sidney Bennett (17 kills), and Sarah
Vinall (13 kills) were also in double figures.
The Tigers hit .344 as a team, including a .474 clip in game one and .408
in game three. The Titans hit .227 as a team and outblocked Pacific, 7-6.
Cal State Fullerton returns to action on Saturday (Oct. 9) with a road
match at Cal State Northridge at 7 p.m.
