Pair of Seniors Named to All-Conference
Team Nov. 24, 2004 – Fullerton, Calif.
The Big West Conference announced its All-Conference selections Tuesday
afternoon that included a pair of Cal State Fullerton seniors. Outside
hitter Lauren Goins and middle blocker Tiffany Dolven earned honorable
mentions for their outstanding play in 2004.
Goins (La Habra, Calif.) led the Titans with 401 kills and 36 service
aces and was second on the team with 338 digs. She became only the fourth
player in Fullerton’s history to record 1,000 kills and only the
second Titan to record 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in her career.
Dolven (Chino Hills, Calif.) led the team in blocking by collecting 131
total blocks (1.26 per game) and 36 solo blocks. Not only a defensive
threat, she collected 198 kills and led the team with a .313 hitting percentage.
Both standouts leave a team that posted its best record since 1996 and
tied the school record for most conference wins with 6.
