All-American Jennifer Joines had 27 kills and a .590 attack percentage
to lead No. 23 Pacific to a three-game sweep (30-26, 30-26, 30-24) of
Cal State Fullerton in a Big West Conference volleyball match at Titan
Gym Friday night.
Pacific improved to 9-6 overall and 4-3 in conference play. The Titans
fell to 7-11 and 1-5. Pacific improved to 39-0 all-time against Fullerton.
The Titans had late runs in all three games, but couldn't put away the
Tigers, who outhit Fullerton, .322 to .172. The Titans did manage to outblock
Pacific, 8 to 3.
Joines was supported by Sarah Vinall, who had 10 kills, and Hayley Anderson,
who had 39 assists and 10 digs. The Titans were paced by Lauren Goins,
who had 13 kills and 10 digs.
The Titans will host Cal State Northridge Saturday night while the Tigers
will visit UC Riverside.
