Titans to Gain Services of Talented Transfers Feb.
11 , 2004 Fullerton,
Calif.
Two transfers from four-year universities have enrolled at Cal State Fullerton
and will play volleyball for the Titans next fall, Coach Carolyn Zimmerman
announced. Tiffany Dolven, a 6-3 middle blocker from Colorado State, and
Brooke Ecklund, a 5-11 outside hitter from Rhode Island, will join the
Titans for the 2004 campaign.
Dolven was a “Fab 50” recruit out of Ayala High School in
Chino, Calif. She led her squad to a pair of league titles and earned
All-Inland Valley honors. She also played for Impact Volleyball Club,
one of the nation’s top 50 club teams. At Colorado State, Dolven
hit better than .400 in each of her three seasons with the Rams and led
them with a .522 attack percentage as a true freshman in 2000.
Ecklund, out of San Luis Obispo High, played two seasons at Rhode Island.
She was selected to the Atlantic-10 Conference all-rookie team and finished
second in the voting for Rookie of the Year. She was second on the Rams
with 2.99 kills per game and was among the conference leaders in digs
per game with 2.96. Ecklund had similar numbers as a sophomore: 2.97 kills
per and 2.35 digs per game.
"The fact that these players join our program with quality Division
I experience is a real boost to our team," said Zimmerman. "Both
Tiffany and Brooke should make immediate contributions."
