Jennifer Fopma had 18 kills, 14 digs and nine blocks to lead Cal State
Northridge to a 30-14, 25-30, 30-17, 30-25 win over Cal State Fullerton
in a Big West Conference volleyball match at Titan Gym Saturday night.
The Matadors improved to 9-6 overall and 5-3 in conference play, while
the Titans slipped to 7-12 and 1-6.
The Matadors, who had just one attack error in the first game, outhit
Fullerton, .302 to .099, and outblocked the Titans, 13 to 9. Heather Fabian
had 14 kills, Unn Kvendseth had 13 kills and Jen Ryan had 11 kills and
18 digs.
The Titans were led by Lauren Goins, who had 13 kills and 12 digs. Among
the highlights for the Titans was the play of reserves Jaclyn Owen (10
kills, seven digs) and Carley Dial.
Fullerton returns to action next weekend when it travels to Utah State
and Idaho.
