Titans' Luck Doesn't Change in Home Opener

Kelly Wing had a match-high 15 kills to pace UC Irvine to a 30-22, 30-20, 30-23 sweep of Cal State Fullerton in a Big West Conference volleyball match in Fullerton Friday night.

The Anteaters improved to 8-6 overall and 2-3 in Big West play. The Titans, who were making their home debut after opening the season with 16 road matches, lost their 11th consecutive match to fall to 4-13 overall and 0-4 in conference. Fullerton has lost 33 of its past 34 games.

Chanda McLeod added 12 kills and Ashlie Hain had 46 assists for Irvine. The Titans were paced by Lauren Goins, who had 11 kills, and Kim Levey, who tallied 34 assists.

Fullerton will host Long Beach State on Saturday while the Anteaters will travel to UC Riverside.
