Titans Go Winless in Portland with Loss to Pilots

Lauren Goins had 15 kills and Carley Dial added 12 for Cal State Fullerton, but it wasn't enough as the Titans fell in four games to host Portland in the final match of the Nike Portland Invitational.

Fullerton, which lost its fifth straight match overall to fall to 4-7, captured the first game, 30-20, but the Pilots (6-3) responded with 30-25, 30-18, 30-23 wins to wrap up the match in front of 149.

Goins and senior setter Kim Levey, who tallied 37 assists and 13 digs, were named to the all-tournament week, marking the third time in as many weekends the pair has garnered awards.

Fullerton, which plays its first 16 matches of the season on the road, will travel to Loyola Marymount on Wednesday before opening Big West Conference play at UC Riverside on Saturday.
