Titans Ink Iowa Star Melanie Meister
Nov. 26 , 2002 – Fullerton, Calif.

Melanie Meister, an outside hitter from Valley H.S. in Des Moines, Iowa, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball at Cal State Fullerton next season, Titan Coach Carolyn Zimmerman announced.

Meister, a 6-1 middle blocker, capped a stellar career at Valley H.S. by setting the school's career record for blocks. She led the squad in kills, blocks and digs as a senior this fall en route to first-team all-conference honors. Meister, considered the top high school hitter in Iowa, also led her team in blocks as a sophomore and junior.

Meister is also a softball standout at Valley and has received several academic awards for her accomplishments in the classroom.

"The coaching staff and team are extremely excited to welcome Melanie as a Titan for the 2003 season," said Zimmerman. "She is a powerful hitter and an in-your-face blocker."
