Beat UCI in 5 to Notch First Big West WIn Sept. 28, 2001 – Irvine, Calif. Box Score Cal State Fullerton outside hitter Megan Sabo led all players with 20 kills as the Titan volleyball team picked up its first Big West Conference win with a 30-26, 21-30, 30-18, 26-30, 15-10 win at UC Irvine Friday night. Fullerton improved to 4-5 overall and 1-2 in the Big West, while UCI fell to 1-8 overall, 0-3 in the conference. Middle blocker Carley Dial added 19 digs for the team, while setter Krista Bebernes tallied 48 set assists for CSUF. The Anteaters were led by junior Chanda McLeod who notched her sixth double-double of the season (19 kills, 16 digs). Middle blocker Rebecca Larsen added a double-double of her own with a 10-kill, 19-dig performance for individual highs this season. Setter Ashlie Hain recorded 60 set assists for the team. The Titans will host Texas-Pan American in a nonconference match on Saturday night.
