The Titans were the early aggressors, staking out an 18-9 lead in the first game. But LMU, which led only five times in the game, made the most of its late efforts, breaking a 28-28 tie with a service ace by Jody Carlson and winning on an attack error by the Titans’ Be Holcombe.

Dina DeBernardi had a game-high five kills for the Lions. Fullerton finally found the winning column in game three, jumping out a 4-0 lead and never looking back. The Titans held the Lions to a .115 attack percentage in the game, by far their lowest of the match, while hitting .239, their best effort of the match. The Lions led for all of game five and were never threatened down the stretch.

Laura Gustorf, Kealani Kimball, Jody Carlson and DeBernardi all reached double figures in kills for the Lions and Nicole Oehlman had 57 assists. The Titans were led by Katie Crawford, who had another efficient attacking effort (19 kills, .500 attack percentage). Krista Bebernes had a match-high 25 kills and Kim Levey had 47 assists.
