Drops Third Straight with Loss to Cal Poly Oct. 13, 2001 – San Luis Obispo, Calif. Box Score The Cal Poly volleyball team defeated CS Fullerton in four games in front of 392 fans in Mott Gym on Saturday. Game scores went 30-23, 28-30, 30-18, and 31-29. Cal Poly improves to 11-5 overall and 5-4 in the Big West Conference. CS Fullerton falls to 7-9 overall and 3-6 in conference. Freshman Jessica Diepersloot (Chowchilla, CA) led the Mustangs to victory with 16 kills, six digs and four block assists. Worthy Lien (La Habra, CA) added 14 kills and five block assists (1 solo). Kristen and Carly O'Halloran (Nipomo, CA) led the team defensively with 12 digs each. Megan Sabo pounded out 23 kills to lead the Titans with Roxanne Barlow adding 15 kills. Vanessa Kelterborn and Kim Levey had 15 digs each to lead the team. After falling in the first game, the Titans battled back to win game two behind six kills by Sabo, but game three was all Cal Poly. The Mustangs hit a hot .400 for the game with five team blocks. Freshman Margaret Donoghue (Santa Clara, CA) entered mid-way through the match and responded with three kills and five block assists in the final two games and helped propel the four game win. Cal Poly hit .211 for the match compared to CS Fullerton's .138, and out blocked the Titans 13-6. Fullerton will travel to Cal State Northridge on Thursday and Pacific on Saturday.
