Titans Let Early Lead Slip Away vs. UC Riverside
April 7, 2005 – Fullerton, Calif.

Cal State Fullerton let an early lead slip away on Thursday afternoon as visiting UC Riverside won the final four singles matches of the day to clinch a 4-3 Big West Conference victory at the Titan Tennis Courts.

The Titans took the early 1-0 lead, winning two of three doubles matches. The duos of Gina Le and Ruya Inalpulat posted an 8-4 win at No. 2 while Caroline Freeman and Chip Dunbar triumphed 8-2 at No. 3 doubles.

Fullerton continued to roll winning at No. 5 and No. 6 singles in straight sets with Freeman and Dunbar emerging victorious.

However, the Highlanders bounced back, claiming wins at Nos. 1-4 singles to clinch the match, including three-set victories by Michelle Beyronneau (7-6, 4-6, 6-1) at No. 1 and H.R. Espiritu (6-2, 2-6, 6-4) at No. 3.
