Carla Rocha Named Co-Player of the Week
Mar. 25, 2004 – Fullerton, Calif.

Cal State Fullerton junior tennis player Carla Rocha was named the Big West Conference's Co-Player of the Week (3/15-21) on Thursday afternoon, after going undefeated in singles play and 3-1 in doubles during last week's action.

She shares this week's honor with UC Irvine's Anna Bentzer.

Rocha (Pomona, Calif.) won all four of her singles matches at the No. 4 singles spot, including a pair of three-set victories against opponents from Columbia and Amherst College, as well as a 6-0, 6-0, whitewashing of Mandie Walker of Southern Utah.

She is currently on a six-match winning streak in singles play and has teamed with freshman Mai-Ly Tran to win their last four straight in doubles play.

Cal State Fullerton, 11-6 overall in 2004 and winners of four in a row and seven of its last nine, returns to action on Saturday (March 27) at 10 a.m. with a home match against Portland at the Titan Tennis Courts.
