Titans Snap Skid Against Gonzaga, 6-1 March 11, 2003 Fullerton, Calif.
The Cal State Fullerton
womens team won eight of the nine matches on the afternoon and cruised
to a 6-1 victory over visiting Gonzaga in a non-conference womens
tennis match on Tuesday afternoon at the Titan Courts.
Fullerton snapped a six-match losing streak dating back to Feb. 7 against
UC Santa Barbara and improved to 3-7 overall on the season. Gonzaga fell
to 3-9 overall on the year.
The Titans swept all three doubles matches by a combined score of 24-10
to take a 1-0 lead. Cal State Fullerton then took five of six singles
matches with the Bulldogs Katie Rock winning at No. 4 singles, defeating
the Titans Brittany Minna, 6-0, 5-7, 10-8. All five of Fullertons
victories in singles were in straight sets.
Cal State Fullerton returns to action on Thursday (March 13) as the Titans
continue a seven-match homestand against Colorado State at 2 p.m.
