GAME NOTES: Minnesota's Rachel Keeney scored what
would turn out to the be the winning run on an error in the fourth and
also drove in another with an RBI double in the first to help propel the
Golden Gophers to a 3-2 win... Lyn Peyer allowed just two runs on four
hits while striking out five in the win... Britney Thompson pitched well
for the Eagles, striking out seven in six innings of work and surrendering
only two earned on three hits... Ashley Obrest got BC close with a two-out,
two-run double to center in the sixth, but Peyer retired the final four
batters in order to secure the win.

GAME NOTES: Lindsay Heimrich's two-run single with
two outs in the bottom of the seventh brought the Falcons all the way
back from a four-run deficit and gave BGSU its first win of the year...
Heimrich had two hits for BGSU, including the game-winner set up by a
fielder's choice and another single by Gina Rango... Liz Vrabel earned
her first win of the season, allowing four runs on nine hits and striking
out six... Northwestern out-hit Bowling Green, 9-7, and smacked a pair
of home runs on the day, but it wasn't enough... Erin Mobley, who had
one of the home runs, went 3-for-4 while Katie Logan went 2-for-3.

GAME NOTES: Nevada jumped out quickly on the nationally-ranked
Beavers, as Jilian Hartfiel smacked a two-run shot to deep left, scoring
Kaycee Wilcks ahead of her for the 2-0 lead... Adrienne Alo got a run
back for OSU in the fourth, smacking an RBI single to score Cambria Miranda
and cut the deficit to 2-1... Nevada answered in the fourth, getting the
run back thanks to an RBI double by Cindy Elkins to score Hartfiel to
make it 3-1... However, that lead didn't last long as Oregon State broke
it open in the fifth, sending nine batters to the plate and scoring six
runs on RBI singles by Lisa Allen and Cambria Miranda, and a two-run HR
by Alo to make it 7-3... McGowan homered with two outs in the sixth to
complete the scoring.

ISU, allowing two runs on six hits... Alyce Jorgensen suffered the loss,
allowing three runs on six hits in five innings of work... Gaither was
3-for-4 for Illinois State, while Gina Carbonatto added three hits for
Pacific... Lizzie Hagen hit a two-run home run in the second for the Tigers'
only runs.

GAME NOTES: Stanford catcher Leah Nelson blasted
two home runs and drove in five on the afternoon to lead the Cardinal
to the victory over host Cal State Fullerton... Nelson's three-run shot
in the third capped a four-run inning for Stanford while her two-run shot
in the fifth gave the Cardinal the lead for good... Catalina Morris also
hit a solo shot in the third to account for Stanford's scoring... Fullerton
jumped out to the quick lead on a two-run single by Ashlee Weatherford
in the second and tied the game at 4-4 on a two-run shot by Ashley Van
Boxmeer in the third... Laura Severson got the win in relief for Stanford,
allowing four hits and striking out four in 3 2/3 innings... Van Boxmeer
and Katie Gollhardt each had two hits for the Titans.

GAME NOTES: Oregon State's Lisa Allen blasted a two-run
home run in the top of the eight and the Beavers came from behind to defeat
Boston College in the only extra inning game of the tournament... BC jumped
out to a 4-0 lead thanks in large part to Britney Thompson's three run
home run in the first... The Beavers stayed close, closing to within one
run on an RBI single by Kelly Petersen in the third and a two-run home
run by Cambria Miranda in the fourth... OSU tied it with a run in the
seventh on an RBI double by Mia Longfellow... Brianne McGowan earned the
win in relief, tossing 3 2/3 innings of shutout softball with five strikeouts.
