Titans Face Familiar Setting, Foes for Regional Run

BRIEFLY
The Cal State Fullerton softball team (28-19 overall, 14-7 in the Big West Conference for a third place finish), winners of its last nine consecutive games, makes its return to the postseason this weekend as one of four teams at the NCAA Regional Tournament hosted by UCLA at Easton Stadium. The Titans are the No. 3 seed and open postseason play against second-seeded UNLV on Friday afternoon (May 20) at 12 p.m. Top-seeded UCLA (No. 7 national seed overall) will meet fourth-seeded LMU on Friday at 2:30 p.m.

Play continues on Saturday (May 21) with three games at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 3 p.m., while the regional championship game will be played on Sunday (May 22) at 12 p.m., with an “if necessary” game to be played at approximately 2:30 p.m.

The winner of the UCLA regional will face the winner of the Athens, Ga., regional in a best-of-three series on May 27-28 at a site to be determined. The host Bulldogs (No. 10 national seed overall) welcome Tennessee Tech, Virginia Tech, and Kansas, this weekend.
