Softball Sweeps League Players of the Week
March 8, 2005 – Fullerton, Calif.

Cal State Fullerton junior Marissa Marzan and freshman Kiki Munoz were named the Big West Conference pitcher and player of the week, respectively, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Marzan (Fresno, Calif.) won her only start in the rain-soaked Worth Invitational hosted by Cal State Fullerton, earning her first collegiate solo shutout against Bowling Green. Marzan scattered just three hits and held the Falcons' hitters to a .125 average.

Munoz (Orange, Calif.) hit .500 (5-for-10) for the weekend, leading the Titans in hitting at the Worth Invitational. She slugged .900 for the weekend and had an on base percentage of .500. Perfectly defensively in 14 chances behind the plate, Munoz hit her first collegiate home run in the Titans' 7-3 win over Illinois State.

Cal State Fullerton returns to action this Friday (March 11) as the Titans play host to San Diego State in a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. at the Titan Softball Complex.
