Slug Their Way to 6-1 Victory March 23, 2005 Fullerton, Calif. Box Score Ohio State's Megan Schwab belted a pair of home runs and drove in five while starter Jamee Juarez held the host Titans to just two hits on the afternoon to lift the Buckeyes to a 6-1 victory over host Cal State Fullerton on Wednesday afternoon at the Titan Softball Complex. The Titans fell to 9-11 overall, extending their season-long losing streak to four games. Ohio State improved to 15-6 overall. Schwab finished the day 3-for-4 at the plate with a two-run home run in the fourth to get OSU on the board and a three-run shot to cap off a four-run seventh for Ohio State. Catcher Natalie Hales also slugged a home run in the seventh, a solo shot to center, to complete the scoring. Fullerton Freshman Kiki Munoz got the Titans their only run of the game in the fifth, slamming her second home run of the year over the left field fence, to close the Titans to within 2-1. Juarez (11-4) was dominating in the circle, allowing just three baserunners on a single by Marissa Marzan in the second, Munoz's home run, and a walk in the seventh. She set down nine of the final 10 batters she faced to nail down the win. Juarez finished with six strikeouts in the complete-game effort. Baker, allowed six earned on eight hits, walking four and striking out seven on the day in the loss. Cal State Fullerton next takes the field this weekend as the Titans open up Big West Conference play at UC Santa Barbara. Due to the Easter holiday, the series begins on Friday (March 25) at 12 p.m. with the single-game series finale on Saturday (March 26) also at noon. ####
