Ousted From Kia After 8-0 Loss to Huskers March 19, 2005 Fullerton, Calif. 2005 Kia Klassic Tournament Page Box Score Nebraska moved into the semifinals of Sunday morning's consolation championship bracket thanks to an 8-0 victory over Cal State Fullerton in Saturday night's final game at the 2005 Kia Klassic. The Titans dropped their third consecutive contest in falling to 9-10 overall and were eliminated from the tournament. The Huskers improved to 19-7 overall and will face Syracuse in Sunday's second semifinal at 10:30 a.m. Nebraska took full advantage of six Fullerton errors, scoring four runs in the first, and single runs in the second, third, fifth, and seventh innings. The top three hitters for the Huskers were a combined 6-for-12 with five runs scored. Each batter had two hits while Jessica Yoachim scored four runs. Ashley DeBuhr (10-6) held the Titan hitters to just three hits while striking out 11. Candice Baker (5-4) suffered the loss, allowing four runs on two hits, walking five in 2/3 of an inning. Brooke Weekley finished the game, allowing one earned run (four overall) on six hits, walking four and striking out eight. Lindsey Bashor, Candice Baker, and Monica Tantlinger each had hits for Cal State Fullerton. Play continues at the Kia Klassic on Sunday morning (March 20) beginning at 8:30 a.m. on both fields at the Titan Softball Complex. The Championship games of both the championship and consolation brackets will be played at 1 p.m. ####
