CAL STATE FULLERTON 9, NO. 7 GEORGIA 1 (5 innings)
Four Titan starters had two hits and sophomore Candice Baker scattered just four hits on the afternoon as Cal State Fullerton (2-1 overall) upset their second-consecutive top-10 opponent on Sunday afternoon, defeating No. 7 Georgia, 9-1, in five innings.

Baker (2-0) went the distance, allowing just one run on four hits and striking out three. She was helped out by the defense which did not experience a repeat of Saturday's first meeting with the Dawgs in which Fullerton committed four errors.

Sophomore Ashley Van Boxmeer was 2-for-2 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI. Junior Marissa Marzan was 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Ashlee Weatherford had a pair of hits and two RBI.

The Titans sent 10 batters to the plate in the deciding third inning to take a 5-0 lead. Fullerton opened the scoring with one out as freshman Amanda Kamekona tripled to right and scored one batter later on a wild pitch for the 1-0 lead.

A single by Katie Gollhardt and a fielder's choice by Baker put two runners on for Van Boxmeer, who singled to center to drive home another run for the 2-0 lead.

She was followed by another RBI single from Marzan and, the big blow, a two run single to right by Weatherford for the 5-0 lead.

Georgia got a run back in the fifth as Michelle Green led off the frame with her first home run of the season to dead centerfield, cutting the deficit to 5-1.

However, the Titans put the game away in the bottom of the fifth, scoring three runs on an RBI single to right by Tiffany Hoff and invoking the run rule on a two run double to left by Bashor to end the game.

NO. 3 UCLA 6, CAL STATE FULLERTON 0
The host Bruins scored twice in the first and took advantage of a pair of Titans' errors in the second inning for three more runs en route to the 6-0 victory in front of 265 fans.

UCLA (7-1 overall) wasted no time in getting on the board in the bottom of the first as Caitlin Benyi led off the inning with a triple on the first pitch and was followed by Andrea Duran, who smacked her first home run of the season on the second pitch of the game to left for the 2-0 lead.

The Bruins extended their lead to 5-0 with three unearned runs in the second thanks to a pair of Titan errors. Krista Colburn led off with a single, reached second on an error, and scored on Tara Henry's single.

Henry scored on a fielding error on Lisa Dodd's fielder's choice and Jodie Legaspi followed with an RBI single to center to make it 5-0. UCLA put up another run in the fourth, loading the bases and getting a two-out RBI single from Kristen Dedmon for the 6-0 lead.

The Titans (2-2 overall) settled down after that, eventually stranding 11 Bruin runners on the day, six of those in scoring position.

Junior Ashlee Weatherford led the Titans with a pair of hits on the day, while five other Fullerton players also had singles.

Marzan (0-2) suffered the loss, allowing six runs, but only three earned while allowing seven hits. Anjelica Selden (4-0) earned the victory in the shutout, scattering a season-high seven hits, but striking out 10.
