Former Greats Return Home for '05 Alumnae
Game Jan. 20, 2005 Fullerton, Calif.
More than 20 former Cal State Fullerton softball greats will take the
field this weekend to help the Titans kick off the season in the 2005
Alumnae Game to be held on Saturday (Jan. 22) at 11 a.m.
Participants will include such greats as NFCA Hall of Fame Head Coach
Judi Garman, three-time All-American and 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Jenny
Topping, and Titan All-American's-turned-assistant coaches Yasmin Mossadeghi
(UC Davis) and Gina Oaks (Azusa Pacific).
The alumnae squad will face off against the 2005 Titans, which return
seven letterwinners and welcome a dozen new faces for this year's campaign.
Fullerton is looking to reverse its fortunes after finishing last season
with an 18-34 overall record and missing the NCAA Tournament for the first
time since 1998.
Last season, the alumnae came away with a 3-0 victory in six innings.
Cal State Fullerton officially kicks off the season on Feb. 5-6 as the
Titans take on host and defending national champion UCLA and Georgia at
the Stacy Winsberg Memorial Classic at Easton Stadium.
