A Pair
of Former Titans Named to National Teams June 22, 2005 – Fullerton, Calif. Information courtesy USA Softball Former Cal State Fullerton All-America softball players Jenny Topping and Gina Oaks have been named to a pair of national teams that will compete this summer the Amateur Softball Association and USA Softball announced. Topping, a three-time first-team All-American in a Titan uniform from 2001-03, was one of 11 returning Olympians named to the 18-woman National Team Roster which takes the field July 12 in Irvine, Calif. for an exhibition game against Australia before heading to the first ever World Cup of Softball in Oklahoma City, July 14-18. On July 26, the team will travel to Yokohama, Japan as they look to defend the Japan Cup title. Oaks, a two-time All-American in 2002-03 as a utility player, was named to the 16-member Elite Team which will represent the Red, White and Blue beginning July 2 at the Canada Cup in Surrey, B.C. and the Inter-Continental Cup in Madrid, Spain, July 20-28.
