Named to All-Big West Honor Rolls May 17, 2005 – Fullerton, Calif. Cal State Fullerton senior Lindsey Bashor and sophomore Tiffany Hoff were named to the All-Big West Conference First Team and led a contingent of five Titans on the all-conference teams in a vote of Big West head coaches and announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon (May 17). Bashor, who earned second team honors as a junior in 2004, finished the regular season hitting .361 with eight home runs and 27 RBI from the leadoff spot en route to first-team laurels. She ranked among the Big West top 10 in nine different offensive categories and saw her average jump to .373 against league opponents with five home runs and 19 RBI. Hoff earned her first career All-Big West honor as the first team designated player, hitting .240 overall on the season, but torching Big West pitching for a .292 averaged with five doubles, a home run, and seven RBI. Junior righthander Marissa Marzan earned her first career all-conference honor, making the All-Big West Second Team as a pitcher in her first collegiate season. Marzan was the Titans ace in the circle, going 13-5 with a 2.36 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 127 innings. She was 7-1 in nine starts and held opponents to a .252 batting average. Sophomore Candice Baker also earned her first career all-conference honor as the second team utility player. Offensively, she hit a career-best .280 with five doubles, four triples, two home runs and 24 RBI (which ranked second on the team). Baker was also a dual threat in the circle, posting eight victories in 14 starts with a 2.46 ERA and a team-best 96 strikeouts. She held opponents to a .195 average. Sophomore Ashley Van Boxmeer rounded out the quintet of Titans, earning honorable mention honors after hitting .318 with eight home runs and 22 RBI. She led the team with 32 runs scored and 20 walks while also slugging .574 on the season. ####
