GAME 1

(RV) Oklahoma State 6, (#10) Stanford 7

GAME NOTES:
Meghan Sickler’s two-run single in the bottom of the sixth gave Stanford its first lead of the game as the Cardinal rallied from 4-1 and 6-1 deficits to defeat Oklahoma State, 7-6 in the opening game of the 2004 Worth Invitational… Oklahoma State scored three runs off Stanford starter Laura Severson in the first inning without the Cardinal recording an out… Megan Carey drew a bases-loaded walk, the third straight given up by Severson, and Crystal Lee smacked a two-run single to left center to make it 3-0… Danika Dukes entered in relief and gave up an RBI single to Jade Lindly to make it 4-0… Catalina Morris broke up the shutout in the bottom of the first with a towering drive over the rightfield fence for her fourth home run of the season… Jade Lindly extended the Cowgirls’ lead to 6-1 in the fifth with a two-run single back up the middle off Severson, who reentered in the second inning… Leah Nelson got the Cardinal back in the game in the fifth, smacking her first home run of the season to right, this one a two-run round-tripper, cutting the deficit to 6-3… Stanford continued to pour it on, loading the bases with no one out in the sixth, and Lauren Lappin bringing the Cardinal closer with a two-run double to right center to make it 6-5… Sickler followed with her two-run single to short right field, giving Stanford the 7-6 lead… Dana Sorensen came in and faced five batters to tally her third save of the year, stranding the tying run at third base.

GAME 2
(#4) California 6, Portland State 0

GAME NOTES:
California scored six times in the fourth inning, including RBI hits by Jessica Pamanian and Haley Woods as the Golden Bears defeated the Vikings, 6-0... Kelly Anderson allowed just four hits and struck out seven batters for California in improving to 11-2... Pamanian was 2-for-3 with two RBI... Melissa Gibson led Portland State at the plate, going 2-for-3.

GAME 3
(#25) Oregon State 4, UC Santa Barbara 0

GAME NOTES: Oregon State's Brianne McGowan tossed a one-hit shutout and retired the final 13 consecutive batters she faced as the Beavers defeated UC Santa Barbara, 4-0... Oregon State struck first in the opening inning as Kelly Petersen's RBI double to left scored Adrienne Alo for the 1-0 lead... Oregon State doubled its pleasure in the fifth, plating a pair of runs on doubles by Vanessa Iapala and Sherina Galvan for the 3-0 lead... The Beavers added another run in the sixth when McGowan drew a two-out bases-loaded walk.

GAME 4

Cal State Northridge 5, (RV) Oklahoma State 0

GAME NOTES: Kia Fennell scattered seven hits and struck out five in the complete game effort as Cal State Northridge shutout Oklahoma State, 5-0... The Matadors put up three runs in the opening inning thanks to a pair of errors and a bases-loaded walk for the 3-0 lead... CSUN put up two more runs in the sixth on a bases-loaded walk to Jade Abel and an RBI single by Jen Dishner... Oklahoma State's 1,2, and 4 hitters combined for six of the Cowgirls' seven hits, going 6-for-11.

GAME 5
(RV) Michigan State 4, UC Santa Barbara 1 (4th Inn.)

Jessica Beech (6-2)
L: Carly Harmon (1-1)

GAME NOTES: Jessica Beech tossed her second career no-hitter and struck out eight Gauchos on the day to led the Spartans to a 4-1 win over UC Santa Barbara... UC Santa Barbara struck first in the first inning when Brittany Putich came all the way around to score when her fly ball was dropped by the left fielder and bounced all the way to the fence... Natalie Furrow answered back in the bottom of the inning, smashing a three-run home run over the right centerfield fence, giving the Spartans a 3-1 lead... Nicole Mercado singled to left centerfield in the fourth to give Michigan State a 4-1 lead... Mercado was 2-for-3 on the day while four other Spartans had hits.

GAME 6
(#10) Stanford 7, Cal State Northridge 3

GAME NOTES: Stanford starter Dana Sorensen allowed three runs on eight hits, walking two and striking out 11 to lead the Cardinal to the 7-3 win over Cal State Northridge... Jackie Rinehart led the charge by going 5-for-5 with a pair of runs and and RBI while Lauren Lappin went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI... The 1-4 hitters for Stanford went a combined 10-for-16 with five runs scored... RBI hits by Rinehart, Katherine Hoffman, and Lappin keyed a four-run second inning, while Lappin added a two-run single and an error completed the scoring for Stanford in the fourth...Laura Hovestreydt and Monique Lovell each had two hits for the Matadors.

GAME 7
(RV) Cal State Fullerton 4, Portland State 0

GAME NOTES: Freshman Candice Baker threw a complete-game three-hitter with eight strikeouts to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 4-0 shutout of Portland State in the Titans' first game of the 2004 Worth Invitational... Julie Watson extended her hitting streak to nine games with a 3-for-4 effort at the plate and two RBI... Rose Rutledge was 2-for-3 to lead the Vikings... Baker earned her first win for the Titans since defeating Texas back on Feb. 13.

GAME 8
(#25) Oregon State 3, Michigan State 1

GAME NOTES: Oregon State's Monica Hoffman allowed an unearned run and struck out eight in the complete game victory, lifting the Beavers to a 3-1 win over Michigan State... Adrienne Alo went 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Beavers, who put up single runs in the second, fifth, and sixth innings... Jessica Beech went 2-for-4 to lead the Spartans.

GAME 9
(#4) California 11, (RV) Cal State Fullerton 0 (5 Inn.)

GAME NOTES: California's Kristina Thorson scattered just two hits in six innings and struck out five while Chelsea Spencer went 2-for-3 with three RBI as the Golden Bears posted the first run-rule victory of the tournament, 8-0, over Cal State Fullerton... Cal capitalized on seven walks by Fullerton pitchers... Vicky Galindo, Lindsay James, Haley Woods, and Jessica Pamanian each had two hits... Tiffany Hoff, Lindsey Bashor, and Jenna Wheeler each had hits for the Titans... Porsha Draper makes her first career appearance in the circle for the Titans.
