Former Titans Invited to USA Olympic Trials
Aug. 22, 2003 – Fullerton, Calif.

Former Cal State Fullerton softball standouts Jodie Cox, Gina Oaks and Jenny Topping were added to the list of 46 players invited to participate in the 2003 Olympic Trials on Sept. 2-7 at the ARCO Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif.

These players will be competing for spots on the USA Softball Women's National Team that will participate in the 2004 Olympics. An initial list of 18 players will be announced on Sept. 8. Since the official Olympic roster consists of only 15 players, three of the 18 players selected will be named as alternates at a later date.

Automatic invitations were given to players who participated on USA Softball National Teams in 2003. Of the 46 players invited, only six participated in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia.

Cox (third-team), Oaks (third-team) and Topping (first-team) all earned All-America honors in 2003 with Cal State Fullerton, helping lead the Titans to a 41-15 overall record, a 20-1 Big West mark, and a fourth consecutive conference championship.
