Former Cal State Fullerton All-American Gina Oaks helped
the New York/New Jersey Juggernaut to the 2004 National Pro Fastpitch
Championship on Aug. 29 in Akron, Ohio.
The Juggernaut defeated the New England Riptide in a weather-shortened
one-game championship by a 10-1 tally after taking a best two-out-of-three
semifinal from the Akron Racers by a 2-1 count.
Oaks went 1-for-3 with a run scored and tossed one inning in the circle
in the championship game, allowing two hits and walking one. She hit .272
in the postseason with a pair of runs and a walk.
Oaks finished the year ranked tied for fourth in the league in pitching
victories with a 12-8 record and allowing just 26 earned runs in 131.2
innings (1.39 ERA). She scattered 78 hits and struck out 116 while holding
the opposition to a .169 batting average for the season.
