Hoff Named Big West Player of the Week Mar. 29, 2004 Fullerton, Calif.
Cal State Fullertons Tiffany
Hoff earned her first career Player of the Week award on Monday after
helping the Titans to a 3-0 week over a pair of top-25 opponents.
Hoff hit .500 (4-for-8) for the three games, including three runs, three
RBI and a pair of home runs. She slugged 1.250 for the week and had an
on-base percentage of .556.
Her one-out home run with a runner on in the fourth inning against Northwestern
helped Fullerton to a 2-1 win in the opener of a doubleheader with the
Wildcats.
She smacked her second home run of the week as part of a seven-run fourth
inning against No. 6 Washington on Friday, helping the Titans to an 11-2
upset of the Huskies.
Her performance at the plate jumped her batting average more than 30 points
to .237 and she ranks fourth on the team in that category. Hoff stands
behind only Lindsey Bashor for the team lead in home runs (6 to 3).
Cal State Fullerton returns to action on Tuesday with a single game at
UCLA at 1 p.m. and opens Big West Conference play this weekend on the
road with a three-game series at Utah State.
