Gina Oaks Named to NPF All-Star Team July 7, 2004 Fullerton, Calif.
Former Cal State Fullerton softball All-American Gina Oaks was one of
28 players selected to participate in the inaugural National Pro Fastpitch
All-Star game to be held on July 13-14 in Oklahoma City.
Oaks is one of seven players from the New York/New Jersey Juggernaut to
be selected to the 14-member East squad. NY/NJ is currently in second
place in the league with a 19-11 overall record, two games back of first-place
Akron.
In her first professional season, Oaks is 6-5 in the circle for the Juggernaut
with a 0.91 ERA, which ranks second in the league behind teammate Amanda
Scott. Oaks also ranks third in the league in strikeouts with 73 and has
amassed a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 4.9-to-1 in 77.2 innings pitched.
She also leads the team with a .139 batting average against and is tops
on the team in fewest hits allowed (37).
The All-Star weekend begins on July 13 as the two all-star teams will
take on the U.S. Olympic Team in a doubleheader. The NPF all-star game
will be held on July 14.
