Former Titans Earn Wins in NPF Debuts
June 5, 2004 – Fullerton, Calif.

Former Cal State Fullerton softball All-Americans Gina Oaks and Jodie Cox earned their first career professional softball victories, starring in the circle for their respective teams in National Pro Fastpitch.

Oaks, a two-time All-American playing for the New York/New Jersey Juggernauts, tossed 9 2/3 scoreless innings and even scored the game-winning run in the 16th inning as she helped her squad defeat the New England Riptide, 4-3, on June 3.

Oaks allowed just two hits and struck out 11 as her squad jumped out to a 3-0 start and currently stand in first place in the league.

Cox, a third-team All-American as a senior in 2003, earned the win in the California Sunbirds' 7-2 win over the Arizona Heat on June 2, tossing six innings and giving up two runs on five hits while striking out five.
