MOUNT WHITNEY HS Played three seasons of varsity softball with the Pioneers • was a three-time All-West Yosemite League selection from her sophomore to senior year playing the infield and also seeing time as a pitcher • played two years of varsity basketball and three years of varsity volleyball as a defensive specialist, earning all-league honors in volleyball as a sophomore • was honored with the Charles Marshall Pioneer of the Year Award and earned the Academic and Leadership Award, Crafts Club Award and was an All-American Scholar. PERSONAL Born on Dec. 13, 1983, in Tulare • Parents are Carlos and Anita • has an older sister Raquel, who also played softball for the Titans from 1995-98, and a younger sister Stephanie, who plays volleyball, basketball, softball and soccer at Divisadero Middle School • her cousin Lupe Sanchez was a second-round supplemental draft pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in the 1984 NFL draft as a defensive back out of UCLA and played three seasons in the league (1986-88) for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and a season each with the USFL’s Arizona Wranglers (1984) and Orlando Renegades (1985).
