Topping Named Co-Player of the Week March 20, 2003 Fullerton, Calif.
Cal State Fullerton senior infielder Jenny Topping was named the Big West
Conference Co-Player of the Week on Thursday after leading the Titan offense
at the 2003 Kia Klassic last week.
She shares the honor with Cal State Northridge's Sondra Milchicker.
It is the second player of the week award this season and the ninth in
Topping's career. Topping holds the Big West Conference record for career
player of the week honors.
Topping hit .455 in the rain-shortened Kia Klassic with a pair of home
runs, three walks and two RBI. She slugged 1.091 for the week and led
the team with an on base percentage of .571.
It is the sixth time in seven weeks that a Cal State Fullerton player
has been named either player of pitcher of the week and the fourth time
in seven weeks that a Titan has earned player of the week honors.
Fullerton returns to action on Saturday (March 22) when the Titans travel
to Arizona to take on the No. 2 Wildcats in a doubleheader beginning at
12 p.m. local time (11 a.m. PST).
