Jodie Cox Invited to National Team Camp May 6, 2003 Fullerton, Calif.
Cal State Fullerton senior pitcher/outfielder Jodie Cox was one of nine
additional players added to the list of invitees for the 2003 Women's
National Team Selection camp, June 4-8, at the ARCO Olympic Training Center
in Chula Vista, Calif.
The Amateur Softball Association, the National Governing Body of Softall
in the United States, announced the invitees on Monday, May 5, increasing
the number of participants to 50.
Cox joins teammates Gina Oaks and Jenny Topping, who also earned an invitation
to the camp on April 14.
Additional invitees to the camp include: Kira Ching (Stanford), Autumn
Champion (Arizona), Kaci Clark (Brentwood, Ten.), Andrea Hillsey (Purdue),
Shelly Prochaska (Oregon State), Danielle Quinones (South Carolina), Christa
Williams (Houston, Tex./Texas) and Emily Zaplatosch (UCLA).
Two teams will be selected following the team camp. The National team
will represent the USA at the U.S. Cup in Honolulu, Hawaii (June 19-22),
the Canada Cup in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada (July 4-13), and the
Pan American Games in Santo Domingo (August 5-14).
The USA Softball Elite Team will compete in the U.S. Cup as well as the
Japan Cup in Yokohama, Japan (July 18-20).
