ILLINOIS STATE: Played one season of softball for the Redbirds and head coach Melinda Fischer in 1999 as a freshman before taking a medical hardship in 2000 and sitting out the year • she was named the team’s Rookie of the Year in 1999 and finished second in the Missouri Valley Conference voting for that award • her career highlight is hitting two grand slams as a freshman and hitting her first career home run at Cal State Fullerton’s Easton Classic (now Kia Klassic) in 1999.

ST. PAUL HS: Played four years of varsity softball for head coach Jim Maier and the Swordsmen while also playing two years of basketball • a four-time All-CIF selection (three of those on the first-team) and a three-time all-league selection • was named league MVP as a junior • was named to the Whittier Daily News’ All-Area Team her sophomore-senior years and was the paper’s Player of the Year as a junior • also named to the Long Beach Press-Telegram’s All-Area team in her sophomore-senior years • named Best Offensive Player as a sophomore and was a two-time team MVP as a junior and senior • helped lead the Swordsmen to three league crowns, a CIF semifinal appearance as a freshman, a quarterfinal appearance as a senior and a CIF final as a junior • was named All-State her senior year • named team MVP on the freshman basketball team and scored a game-high 22 points as a sophomore at the varsity level.

PERSONAL: Born January 13, 1980, in Orange • her parents are Greg and Kathy • full name is Krista Ann O’Hanian • she is a marketing major at Cal State Fullerton • lists her hobbies as going to the movies, listening to music, shopping and spending time with her boyfriend of three-and-a-half years, Jason • also considered Big West rival Long Beach State, but chose Cal State Fullerton because of the team chemistry and the university’s business program.
